Are your plates, bowls and platters safe to eat from?
At Moss & Stone we make several pieces that are food worthy. These pieces will be finished with natural penetrating oils or hard finishes formulated specifically for food use. All of the pieces you’ll find in our Culinary Collection will be food safe.

Can I put my wood products in the dishwasher?
No. Placing any wood product in the dishwasher can ruin the finish and lead to the lifting of grain and ultimately these could release into your food. We recommend hand washing with warm water and soap and drying immediately. This will keep your piece looking great for years to come.

How can I prolong the life of my utensils and cutting boards?
Protecting the wood from moisture due to food contact and washing is key. All Moss & Stone cutting boards and utensils are protected with 100% Walnut oil that is food safe even before it dries. We recommend applying a light coat of Walnut oil to your boards and utensils once every 2 - 3 months with regular use. A good way to determine if you need to recoat your piece is if water no longer beads on the surface.

I have one of your salad bowls. Do you have utensils and single serving bowls to match it?
We do make salad spoons and single serving bowls to match when requested. This is usually done when you place your order but can usually be done later. In cases where the wood has unusual features we recommend asking when you place your order and we can let you know if matching stock is available to complete your order.
